The Platform

Unblock is envisioned as an open-source, collaborative & incentivized trust based decentralized ecosystem that is self-sustaining and does not depend on market conditions for survival.

Taking inspiration from the structure of a micro-organism to visualize the entire research ecosystem as a living cell playing a small but vital role in the progress of the organism or in our case the entire human race.

We beleive that research needs a new platform where collaboration is built at its core. Collaboration requires trust and that is the entry point into the application, a new identity+reputation system that seeks to enable cross border collaboration followed by a personal dApp that allows researchers to connect with the entire ecosystem that seeks to enhance research.

Identity & Reputation System (UBID)

An multi layer off-chain wallet linked identity and reputation management system that helps in accessing various other parts of the UB platform.
Identity and reputation have so far been treated separately by almost all metrics, our proposal seeks to create a uniformed decentralized reputation and identity management system crucial for participation in the unblock ecosystem and beyond. Also including vital contributions such as peer review, mentoring, etc. that have so far been ignored by most metrics.

UBID: Identity + Reputation + Wallet

Central to the Unblock Platform, the LabBook Node is like an on-chain laboratory designed for researchers from around the world to collaborate, for ideas to breed, raise support & funds, amplify serendipity, collaborate on a truly global scale and advance human knowledge. Like the nucleus of a cell, it is a place where new ideas grow and multiply and even come to an abrupt end as abandoned hypotheses. These abandoned hypotheses are always available on-chain with their results so that others don't waste their valuable time doing the same hypothesis and begin where others stopped.

These DAOs will help in bringing in decentralized and reputation based governance and automated issuance of funds, oversee usage and evaluate impact on Lab Node’s active research. Grants can be scheduled to be issued periodically based on previously agreed milestones that are overseen by nominees by the grant issuing institution. Institution nodes also have functionalities such as operating computational and storage nodes, issue and verify claims and manage NFT IPs.
